Introduction to Washington

Day 1

Arrive in Washington and meet your Capital City Tours representative who will assist with check in to your hotel.  After you get settled into your room, depart for a delicious dinner at a well known Washington restaurant, followed by an Illuminated Night Tour of the monuments and memorials to include the Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial, FDR Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Kennedy Center and a drive by the U.S. Capitol and the White House.

Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll depart to meet your tour guide for a full day of touring to include the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, followed by lunch at Union Station.  After lunch, you'll drive down  Embassy Row and have plenty of free time to explore the Smithsonian Museum of your choice.  To end the day on a perfect note there will be a spectacular dinner cruise along the Potomac River.

Day 3

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll check out and meet your tour guide for this morning's sightseeing to include the Bureau of Engraving & Printing, Ford's Theatre, Peterson House and the Marine Corps (Iwo Jima) Memorial.  After your tour of Arlington National Cemetery, you'll head for home.

 

An Educational Experience for Students

Day 1

Arrive in Washington and meet your Capital City Tours representative who will assist with check in.  After you get settled into your room, you'll depart for dinner at one of Washington's themed restaurants followed by an illuminated night tour of the breathtaking monuments and memorials.

Day 2

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you will meet your tour guide for a full day of touring to include the U.S. Capitol, Bureau of Engraving & Printing followed by a lunch at the International Food Court.  After lunch, visit National Geographic and the National Zoo.  Finish the afternoon by walking the National Mall, stopping along the way to visit the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Memorial. and the World War II Memorial  For dinner, enjoy an evening of entertainment at one of the local area dinner theatres.

Day 3

After breakfast at the hotel, check-out of the hotel and before you depart Washington, visit our national record keeper, the National Archives.  An independent agency created by statute in 1934, the National Archives safeguards records of all three branches of the Federal Government.  The group will have the opportunity to view the original Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
